Creative development and implementation for a sub-brand of Wish-Bone
R.BIRD was asked to extend Wish-Bone's well known line of salad dressings into a new line of marinades. The resulting packaging design is a handsome marriage of established branding strategies and flavor appeal in a new subcategory.
What needs to happen?
- leverage consumer desires for foods to grill, more flavor
- communicate appetite appeal, dual uses and flavor variants
- keep key elements but differentiate from Wish-Bone dressings
Did you notice?
- labels create a visual block of marinades on the dressings shelf
- grilled meats are dominant over salad greens
- red neckers telegraph new products.
An R.BIRD Note
Grilling is one the few male forays into cooking, so the label pairs the feminine Dressing with a more masculine handling of Marinade.
